Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers (-3)

Who are the Dallas Cowboys this season? Are they the 2016 team led by a surprise rookie and amazing running back behind the best offensive line, or are they the dumpster fire that took the league most weeks last season?

This week is not the one to answer questions. The Cowboys take on the Carolina Panthers, who look to build off another playoff appearance. The Panthers have Cam Newton trying to regain his MVP form. This defense is still one to be reckoned with, led by Luke Kuechly. There’s a lot to like about the Panthers coming into the season.

That’s not to say the Cowboys should be written off. Vegas thinks this is an even matchup for a reason. If Ezekiel Elliott decides he wants to make up for a lost season, the Panthers need to watch out. Elliott has NFL record upside. Still, there are too many questions surrounding Dallas, and it’s already missing its All-Pro center. Take the Panthers giving the points.

Washington Redskins @ Arizona Cardinals (-1)

How did the Arizona Cardinals become the favored team in this matchup? Everything points to a rebuild in Glendale. The team’s quarterback retired, and they replaced him with an expensive, one-year veteran. They drafted his heir apparent. The coach also left, and was replaced with Steve Wilks, who’s unproven. It seems like there is much to prove in Arizona.

Meanwhile, the Redskins don’t have that bad a team. They added Alex Smith coming off a career year. Adrian Peterson has everything to play for, especially in week one. The defense has some pieces.

This would be my lock of the week. I do not trust the Cardinals at all. The Redskins could be a surprise team to watch. Take your point and go.
