The Nebraska Cornhuskers will host the Colorado Buffaloes for a Saturday kickoff. Here is the game preview, odds, tv channel, live stream and pick.

Week 2 of the 2018 college football season will be in full force on Saturday. One game of note will feature two former Big 12 rivals that no longer play in that conference in the Colorado Buffaloes (1-0) and the Nebraska Cornhuskers (0-0).

Kickoff from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln will be at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday afternoon. ABC will have the national telecast of this college football game. The available live stream can be found on WatchESPN.

Colorado enters play at 1-0 on the year. The Buffaloes absolutely throttled their in-state rival in the Colorado State Rams of the Mountain West in Week 1, 45-13. Quarterback Steven Montez was nearly perfect as a passer in that game, completing 22 of 25 passes for 338 yards, four touchdowns and an interception against what looks to be a bad Rams team.

As for Nebraska, well, the Scott Frost era in Lincoln was delayed a week due to lightning in the area last Saturday. Nebraska was to open the 2018 NCAA season at home against the MAC’s Akron Zips. However, that game has been canceled and no makeup date has been announced.

According to OddsShark, the Cornhuskers will be laying four points at home to the visiting Buffaloes. The associated moneylines for this game are Nebraska -175 and Colorado +165. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 64 points.

Though neither team is ranked at this time, it will be interesting to see how these former Big 12 rivals stack up. Nebraska left the Big 12 for the Big Ten first in 2011. Colorado would join the expanded Pac-12 in 2012 along with the Utah Utes, formerly of the Mountain West.

This is a year of great expectations for both the Cornhuskers and the Buffaloes. Nebraska has its former star quarterback in Frost trying to bring the program back to the glory days with Tom Osborne at the helm. Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre is feeling some pressure after a down 2017 that followed a Pac-12 South Championship in 2016.

With this game being in Lincoln, you have to believe that Big Red will be chomping at the bit to finally get its season under way. Though Montez and the Buffaloes dominated rival Colorado State, the Rams already have two losses on the year in what looks to be rough season going forward for Mike Bobo and company.

Colorado will play well, but the home crowd in Lincoln will be the difference in this ball game. It’ll be relatively low scoring, helping Colorado cover the four-point spread. However, the Frost era in Nebraska football will get off to a 1-0 start.

Prediction: Nebraska 24, Colorado 21
