The Virginia Tech Hokies come off a huge season-opening win by welcoming the Williams & Mary Tribe to Blacksburg in week 2 of college football on Sept. 8.

Heading into the first week of the 2018 college football season, the Virginia Tech Hokies weren’t given a chance to roll over a cupcake school. They were put in a position where they would be tested to the maximum degree right out of the gate, taking on Florida State. Head coach Justin Fuente, however, had them more than ready for the task.

The Hokies eviscerated the Seminoles last week in the Monday night primetime matchup in college football. Their offense was solid throughout the night, but it was a suffocating defense that ultimately allowed them to secure the big win with ease. Now they look to have a bit easier time in Week 2 as they welcome the William & Mary Tribe to Blacksburg on Saturday.

Virginia Tech quarterback Josh Jackson may have had rumors flying about him all offseason, but he was eligible and played like a growing star last week. Tossing two touchdowns and throwing for north of 200 yards, he was fully in control of the offense and looked to be able to do his thing against any opponent in the country.

William & Mary get set to take on Virginia Tech with a 1-0 record of their own after topping Bucknell in the season-opener. Having said that, quarterback Shon Mitchell is going to have a bear of a time trying to find success against a defense as stifling as the Hokies.

Given the fact that you can’t find a line for this game, the assumption would be that Virginia Tech is about to win in a rout. In truth, that’s probably the way things are going to play out, especially with how they performed last week. Still, stranger things have happened and no scenario should ever entirely be counted out in college football.
