We’re handing our helmet stickers as we bringing you the top 10 studs of Week 2 of the pulse-pounding action from the 2018 college football season.
If you thought that the performances were Heisman Trophy-worthy in Week 1, well, out friends, you haven’t seen anything yet.
It is almost like the top players from around the country are playing a season-long game of “Can you top this?”, and there are many who are indeed rising to the challenge. This is the perfect time for the elite players of the college game to pile up the stats, as the slate will only get harder from here on out.
As always, it’s super tough to pick out the 10 best performances of Week 2, because, simply put, there were so many; but, we have to what we have to do and these 10 players deserved their spot as the top studs of Week 2.
10. Tua Tagovailoa – QB, Alabama
- 13/19, 228 yards, 4 TDs
Another week, another blowout for the Crimson Tide. Also becoming a trend: Tua Tagovailoa dominating opposing secondaries through the air. As a side note, it was nice to see Tagovailoa celebrating Jalen Hurts nice TD pass.
9. Laviska Shenault Jr. – WR, Colorado
- 9 catches, 172 yards, 1 TD
For now on, when it comes to Laviska Sheanult Jr., you better add “clutch” at the end of his name. His TD catch with 1:06 to go sent the Nebraska fans in utter shock and disbelief.
8. Jordan Ta’amu – QB, Ole Miss
- 23/33. 448 yards, 5 TDs
When the players from Southern Illinois woke up this morning, we didn’t expect they thought Ole Miss would hang 76 points on them today. They also may not have thought that Jordan Ta’amu would have a field day against their beleaguered secondary. If not for the FCS opponent, Ta’amu’s game would rank higher on this list of our players of the week.
7. Will Greer – QB, West Virginia
- 21/26, 332 yards, 4 TDs
Will Greer continues to show the college football world that he is one of the top players at his position. he also continues to show Gainesville just how much they should miss him, which is a lot.
6. Benny Snell – RB, Kentucky
- 27 car, 175 yards
Snell may not have had eye-popping numbers today, but it was his running that controlled the tempo and allowed Kentucky to snap a 31-game losing streak against the Gators and give the Wildcats their first win in Gainesville since 1979.
5. Kylin Hill – RB, Mississippi State
- 17 car, 211 yards, 2 TDs
I think it’s time for us to stop overlooking Mississippi State. Why? Because Kylin ‘Freakin’ Hill, that’s why. The man is a beast among running backs, and Kansas State knew that they didn’t have a prayer to stop him this week.
4. Dwayne Haskins and Tate Martell – QBs, Ohio State
- 30/33, 354 yards, 5 TDs, 1 rushing TD (Martell)
We had to add both of Ohio State’s quarterbacks to the list. Anytime you have two arms that can put up the numbers that Haskins and Martell put up today, they both deserved to be recognized.

Don't knock @TheTateMartell down to the turf.

3. Kyler Murray – QB, Oklahoma
- 19/33, 306 yards, 3 TD’s, 2 rushing TDs
There was some school of thought that Oklahoma fans would miss Baker Mayfield. After Murray had another spectacular week — this time, putting the hurt on winless UCLA — many are starting to whisper “Baker who?”
okay so this Kyler Murray to Ceedee Lamb connection is getting outta hand 👀 pic.twitter.com/wOvIv34lPB

2. Jonathan Taylor – RB, Wisconsin
- 33 car, 253 yards, 3 TDs
The Badgers have a very simple game plan — just give the ball to Jonathan Taylor and let him run wild. He did that — and then some — against the New Mexico Lobos, and we have a pretty good feeling he’s going to be a mainstay on this list for the season.
Enough playing around, y'all.

1. Kellen Mond – QB, Texas A&M
- 23/40, 430 yards, 3 TDs
There were doubts that Kellen Mond could step up to the challenge against powerful Clemson. Despite being on the wrong side of a 28-26 score, Mond shut all of his doubters up. This kid is the truth and his future is bright in College Station with Jimbo Fisher there to mold him.
