Welcome to the Sunday edition of WNBA DFS Lineup Advice, a fantasy basketball column dedicated to finding you the best key players and value picks on today’s slate to build your lineups around.

Friday turned into a blowout, and a bad game from EDD and Sanders sunk most of my lineups. I expect most people to be busy with the first day of football today, leaving the WNBA wide open for us to sink our teeth into. I’m hungry for a win, so let’s run some numbers, find the best plays for the best prices today, and go win some money!!!

For those of you stopping by for the first time, I would like to thank you for checking out WNBA DFS Lineup Advice here at FantasyCPR.com Here is a brief summary of what I cover in each article:

Loyd finishes in transition on a nice pass from Alysha Clark. The Storm scored 18 points on fast breaks in game one against the Mystics as noted by Percy Allen from the Seattle Times. Jewell shined in game one against PHO but struggled to find her form in the rest of the series. Can she keep the momentum going this time?

3:30 pm ET  Washington Mystics  #3  vs.  Seattle Storm  #1  168 O/U  SEA -5

MVP:

Breanna Stewart – She got off to a slow start on Friday but still scored 22 points. Stewie only grabbed three boards though and didn’t block a shot for the second game in a row. Even if this game gets out of hand again (Seattle’s highest lead in game one was 27 points) Stewarts minutes are safe. The 2018 WNBA MVP should be the WNBA DFS MVP in the winning lineup today.

Elena Delle Donne – After sitting out the fourth quarter on Friday I expect EDD to come out with a chip on her shoulder and the extra rest may help as well. LineStar has her projected to score 37.36 points on DraftKings. I won’t have much exposure to her today. Until she gets back to D.C. or finds the hyperbaric chamber she’s searching for in Seattle, her knee seems to be an issue and may continue to hinder her performance.

Natasha Howard – Howard managed to get it done in game one, blocking a few shots and scoring 19 points. Her price went down $500 on Fanduel where LineStar has her projected to score 29.19 points. She’s under 10k on DK if you don’t stick her in the MVP spot and is one of my favorite plays on the board today.

STAR:

Jewell Loyd – Loyd led the way for the Storm with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals against the Mystics in game one of the WNBA Finals. She was perfect from behind the arc and went 9-12 from the field. Her price also dropped $500 dollars on Fanduel

Ariel Atkins – The rookie led the Mystics in scoring on Friday for the second game in a row. She has taken 28 field goal attempts in those games and has been perfect from the line (10-10).  Her price on DK is only 7k where LineStar has her projected to score 25.87 points. I want plenty of exposure to her there. On Fanduel I would rather play Loyd.

PRO:

Alysha Clark – Clark was able to shut down Kristi Toliver in game one, and round out the stat sheet enough to return value on Friday. Her defensive prowess keeps her on the floor for a majority of the game on most nights so her minutes are pretty safe regardless of the score. She didn’t take a three-point attempt in game one, after firing 9 shots from behind the arc in her previous two games. She doesn’t have a ton of upside but her price puts her in play today.

Natasha Cloud – Cloud had 11 points and 5 assists in game one but only played 22 minutes limiting her fantasy value. I expect her to see the court for about 8 more minutes tonight giving her a bump of 7.2 fantasy points (8*.9 FPPM G1) on Fanduel. That would put her at 27.1 fantasy points, giving her a dollar per point value of $258.30, almost $100 cheaper than game one. That said, she’s a little pricey on DraftKings, and on Fanduel I would rather find the $500 to pay up for Loyd.

Sami Whitcomb and the rest of the bench for the Storm celebrate as Seattle cruises to an easy victory over the Washington Mystics in game one. Even with a big lead for most of the game, the starters for the Storm played a decent amount of minutes limiting the role of the bench, especially in the paint. On the other side of the ball players like Tianna Hawkins and Myisha Hines-Allen got an extended run in the blowout.

UTILITY SPOT:

Tianna Hawkins – Hawkins got big minutes in game one and managed to capitalize on the opportunity for about 19 fantasy points. She had the best dollar per point ratio in game one on Fanduel ($201.01) aside from Jewel Loyd ($182.93). Her minutes have fluctuated lately but she has had two decent games in a row and is as cheap as it gets on Fanduel where LineStar has her projected to score 13.89 points.

Sami Whitcomb – Sami has been solid off the bench, playing 37 minutes in the last two games. That includes 20 minutes in a crucial game five against the Mercury, showing that coach Hughes has plenty of confidence in her. She has paid her dues overseas and now has a chance to win a WNBA title with the Storm. I expect her to get another decent run tonight and at 4k she feels like the safest punt on the board. She’s even cheaper on DK and should find her way into plenty of lineups today.

Myeshia Hines-Allen – The rookie was able to produce a decent amount of fantasy points in only 10 minutes of play off the bench on Friday. I don’t expect her to get much court time today and won’t have any exposure to her in my lineups.

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt – She played 16 minutes in game one but only managed to score four points and grab one rebound. She had a steal too, but it wasn’t enough to return value on Fanduel. On Draftkings she is only $1,800 making her a bit more playable, but there are still other cheap option I would rather take a flyer on.

Final Thoughts

  1. Even though the score last game was a little low Seattle covered the spread for us. I’m betting on the over again tonight (it dropped a few points), and Seattle to once again cover the spread.
  2. Fanduel Fades: Kristi Toliver, Latoya Sanders, Jordin Canada, Crystal Langhorne
  3. DraftKing Fades: Elena Delle Donne, Kristi Toliver, Natasha Cloud
  4. Blowout or not, don’t be afraid to stack the studs from Seattle and grab a value player or two from the other side of the ball.
  5. Good luck today and enjoy the game! I have a spreadsheet for Fanduel I will be posting on Twitter, I am working on one for DraftKings as well.
