Every year there are several players who breakout during week one and become must adds in Fantasy Football.

If you suffered a loss during the first week of your fantasy season all is not lost. It’s an opportunity for you to work the waiver wire and add a potential star. There were more than a few breakout fantasy performers during the first week of the season.

This may sound a little crazy, but I don’t mind starting off slow in my fantasy football leagues. The waiver wire is a very important aspect of the fantasy football landscape.

Last year, I was in more than one league where Alvin Kamara was added via the wavier wire. That addition carried that owner to either a championship or deep in the playoffs. The reason players like Kamara are available is because the nobody wants to reveal their plans in the preseason.

We already saw plenty of examples during the first week of the season. There was the high usage of Adrian Peterson, heavy involvement of Eric Ebron and strong play of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Who would’ve though that Peterson would get so many touches and be so effective. Last year in Arizona didn’t go so well and the only reason he had a starting job this year was due to an injury. The first week of the season always sheds a lot of light on different situations.

None of those three show up on this list as most are owned. However, this list does offer other breakout performers who need to be added.
