After Ryan Fitzpatrick showed that anything can happen each week, these are the quarterbacks with the best chance to exceed fantasy expectations this week.

Seriously, Ryan Fitzpatrick was incredible last weekend. He was easily the top scoring fantasy football quarterback, throwing for over 400 yards and having five total touchdowns. Yet, he was owned in less than two percent of leagues going into the weekend and presumably started in less than that. It made sense, last year, across six games with three starts, he had 73.92 fantasy points but on Sunday he dropped more than half of that with 42.28. So, who has the best chance to do something like that this week?

10. Patrick Mahomes

Mahomes would be higher on this list if people weren’t hyping him up over his last performance, making him less of a sleeper. After a four-touchdown performance against the Chargers, despite two of them being little flips passes, Mahomes proved to the world that he is ready. Now, he gets a favorable matchup against a Steelers defense that allowed 23.6 points to Tyrod Taylor who is just a game manager. Plus, the Steelers are a high-powered offense that could force a shootout, making Mahomes throw the ball a lot.

9. Sam Darnold

After getting his first career win against the Lions on Monday Night, Darnold has now adjusted to regular season football in the NFL. He showed as the game progressed that he became more and more comfortable on the field.

Now, despite the talent the Dolphins possess defensively, they do not have enough top tier corners to stay with the Jets receivers. The return of Jermaine Kearse this week gives the Jets four talented receivers for Darnold to throw the ball to. All of these options could result in a big week for the rookie.
