6. Philip Rivers

There is only one factor that could stop Philip Rivers from having a huge week against the Bills. It’s Melvin Gordon and the fact that the Bills are miserable. Melvin Gordon is one of the most talented running backs in the league and could potentially have a field day against a weak Bills defense, in which case the game plan will be more run based.

Also, since the Bills are so bad, the Ravens pulled Joe Flacco before the fourth quarter last week. However, should the Chargers keep their usual play mix and Rivers plays the whole game, this week could be big for him.

5. Alex Smith

Generally speaking, Alex Smith manages games well and will give fantasy owners a solid performance week in and week out. However, there are times when he just has the right matchup and can explode.

Despite currently being started in 37.8 percent of ESPN leagues, Smith has one of the best matchups in football this week. He takes on a Colts team that has extreme struggles at cornerback and will not be able to handle Jamison Crowder and Josh Doctson. Taking advantage of these mismatches will allow Smith to be a top tier fantasy option this week if Washington opens up the playbook.
