The Clemson Tigers look to come back from a tough matchup last week as they take on the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday in Week 3.
With Hurricane Florence hitting the East Coast, there are many games throughout the south that have been cancelled or moved for the third week of the 2018 college football season. However, one that is still on for now is the Clemson Tigers welcoming the Georgia Southern Eagles to South Carolina for the weekend. The Eagles, however, may ultimately wish that this one had been called off as well.
Clemson is coming off of a big win last week as they took on the Texas A&M Aggies in a thriller. Though it looked as if the Tigers were in control for most of the game, Jimbo Fisher’s group went on a late-game run to make things incredibly interesting. Regardless, Kelly Bryant and Co. withstood the heat and ultimately took the victory to stay at 2-0.
Meanwhile, Georgia Southern also enters this game at 2-0, but with two less impressive victories. They beat up on South Carolina State in their season-opener, but did come through with a solid win last week as they handily beat UMass. Of course, neither of those teams even hold a candle to what Clemson can throw at them.
Despite a perceived quarterback controversy for the Tigers between Bryant and Lawrence, it hasnt bit them just yet, and the former showed up big against A&M last week. More importantly though, Dabo Swinney still has one of the best defenses in the country at his disposal, anchored by their stout defensive line. Put simply, it’s hard to imagine the Eagles being able to muster much success against that front on Saturday.

Could we be bold and predict that the Eagles are going to beat the Tigers? Sure, but that would be silly. Moreover, it would also be silly to say that Clemson is even going to let this one be close. It’s going to be a blowout on Saturday and the home team will roll to an easy victory.
