I’m ready to run through a brick wall for Syracuse head coach Dino Babers after listening to his victory speech to his team after beating Florida State.

Dino Babers is building something at Syracuse. Last year, he led his team to an upset win over Clemson. Today, it was a convincing win against struggling ACC power, Florida State. The Orange won 30-7 and the lone touchdown by the Noles came in the fourth quarter with the game already decided.

Syracuse isn’t used to beating Florida State, even if this year’s FSU team might end up struggling to meet the minimum requirements for bowl-eligibility, but don’t let that rain on the parade in the Syracuse locker room after the game.

These are the types of wins coaches like Babers need in order to convince his players that the program is headed in the right direction and to instill a belief in them that they are winners and they can beat any team they face on any given week.

This win only counts as one in the standings and the record books, but this win will have lingering effects as Syracuse navigates the rocky waters that is their ACC schedule. Beating Florida State and having the confidence will go a long way when they find themselves as underdogs and battling to get a win in the coming weeks and months.

But for today? It’s all about the celebration after putting the team back on the map. Check out the scene from the Orange locker room where Babers addressed his team with a speech that has me ready to suit up and give him my all for four quarters.

Please tell me you didn’t get goosebumps watching that because if you didn’t, you’re surely not human, or at the least, you’re a triggered Florida State fan who is ready to borrow the Men in Black memory zapper and give yourself a few shots to forget the pain of the Willie Taggart era in Tallahassee.
