Carson Wentz is set to return for the Eagles for their Week 3 matchup against the Colts. Wentz thinks his return can get the team back on track.

Carson Wentz is set to return for his first game this week since tearing his ACL and LCL last December, and it’s sure to be an emotional time for him.

Wentz missed the Eagles magical playoff and Super Bowl run last season, and with his return, he believes he can get the Eagles back on track.

So far, the Eagles offense has only scored 39 points in their first two games. Wentz’s focus is to get the Eagles offense, led by his MVP-caliber play, back to its 2017 form.

“I just want to pick up where we left off last year,” Wentz said, per Philly.com. “We had a lot of big plays last year when we were in situational football. Third down, red zone, things we really excelled in last year. Those are things we want to keep building on.

“At the end of the day, I, and really this whole offense and this whole organization, always have high expectations. We expect to start fast, play fast, be clicking.”

Last season, the Wentz-led Eagles excelled in third-and-long passing situations. Wentz would connect on 62 percent of his passes for 727 yards, seven touchdowns with two interceptions for a 117.5 passer rating.

Wentz also added that playing scout team quarterback has helped with his transition to eventually getting back on the playing field. But will Wentz, with all that he has endured, be a lock to get the Eagles back on track? Recovering from an LCL, let alone ACL, injury is tough, but the Eagles may perhaps rely on creative play calling to get Wentz back in motion.

Either way, the Eagles will benefit greatly with a healthy Wentz back in tow. We will have to see how it all plays out this Sunday as the Eagles face the Colts.
