Home field advantage can be crucial in the NFL. Putting your money on home favorites like the Seahawks and Rams is the right play in Week 4.

There are rare weeks in the NFL schedule were betting patterns really emerge. Week 4 is just that type of occasion. Betting heavily on home favorites is absolutely the way to go. Four out of our five selections this week will follow that tried and true methodology.

Betting on home teams isn’t a good play every week, but the slate really leans heavily in that direction this week. In all honesty, there are more than five games we liked on this week’s slate. As always, we’re bringing you our best five picks for the week.

Let’s start with a solid bet on a team that was extremely impressive last week.

5. Take the Jaguars -6.5 against the Titans

It’s safe to assume that Blake Bortles isn’t going to play another great game this week. Fortunately, Jacksonville doesn’t need him to throw over 300 yards and four touchdowns against the Tennessee defense.

Instead, look for the Jaguars to return to normal on offense. Leonard Fournette should play this week which means he’ll get a chance to bludgeon the Titans defense on the ground. Bortles will get a little more rope than usual this week, but the majority if it will come via play action.

The real advantage Jacksonville carries into this game is when the Titans have the ball. Marcus Mariota’s status for the game is still up in the air. Even if he plays, he won’t be 100% due to his injured elbow. Nerve damage isn’t anything to play with. Even if Mariota starts this game, there’s a solid chance he won’t finish it.

Even if he does, the Titans are going to really struggle to throw the ball against Jalen Ramsey and company. Look for the Jaguars to grab an early lead which will allow the defense to pin their ears back and torment whoever plays quarterback for Tennessee. This may be an ugly win, but the Jaguars should able to cover comfortably.
