1. Bet on the Packers -3 at the Redskins

Those of you reading closely know we had to take one road team this week. That prestigious honor goes to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Yes, we know the talented signal caller is basically playing on one leg. That didn’t stop him from putting up a bunch of points against a really good Vikings defense last week. Expect the Packers offense continue to roll this week against a much weaker Redskins defense.

Part of our rationale here is a reaction to the way Washington played last week against the Colts. That’s a game the Redskins should have won easily. Instead, they were beaten soundly by Andrew Luck and company. Luck is still a shell of his former self. He’s nowhere near the player Rodgers is right now.

Alex Smith didn’t look great last week either. He’s showing dangerous signs of getting gun shy in the pocket. Smith didn’t push the ball down the field against the Colts defense at all. The Packers have a superior pass rush. Look for Smith to focus too much on his check downs again in this one.

The Redskins might be able to keep up with Green Bay for a half, but Rodgers and company will simply overwhelm them in the second half. Three points isn’t close enough to go with Washington here. Add it all up and you have our best bet of the week.
