With the win over Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies, Nick Saban has now improved his record to 13-0 over his former assistant coaches.

There are advantages to being one of Nick Saban’s assistant coaches, the biggest being landing a head coaching gig at a powerhouse university.

You know what the downside is? Losing to the teacher when you face him.

That’s what happened to Jimbo Fisher, when his new team, the Texas A&M Aggies, paid a visit to Tuscaloosa this afternoon to face Saban and the unstoppable Alabama Crimson Tide. This game was billed as the “biggest test” so far for Alabama, as the Aggies were the No. 22 team in the country and posses a star-on-the-rise in quarterback Kellen Mond.

This game was a test, alright, but it was Saban who was administering the quiz, and Fisher, again, failed.

With his win over the Aggies, Saban has improved his record to 13-0 against his former assistant coaches, continuing the misery of former assistant coaches getting waxed against the best coaches in the history of college football.

You wanna know how bad it is for Saban’s disciples against the master?

According to SB Nation, the average margin of victory against Saban’s former assistants is nearly 26 points, and it’s been even worse for Fisher who was an assistant under Saban at LSU, and in his first game against his former boss as a head coach in 2017, Saban beat Florida State, 24-7.

Flash forward to today, in which Fisher, once again, at a lot of humble pie at Saban’s expense. The Crimson Tide ran away with the game early and cruised to a 45-23 victory over their visitors from College Station, which is right near the mark of Saban’s margin of victory against his former pupils.

Next. Nebraska all alone in Blowout City. dark

Maybe, one day, there will be an assistant that will finally get the best of Saban; but, let’s not kid ourselves. When you try to mess with the bull, you always get the horns.
