Tiger Woods has come so close to winning his first PGA title in five years all year long, but it finally happened at the Fedex Playoffs at East Lake Golf Club and it was epically awesome.

Tiger Woods had the lead for a bit at the British Open, but made a fatal double bogie and ended up tied for sixth on the final day. At the PGA Championships, it was even closer, finishing runner-up to a supremely efficient Brooks Koepka.

But on Sunday, September 23, 2018, Tiger Woods started out the day with the lead, and won the Fedex Playoff Championship.

Here are all the beautiful putts, birdies, breathtaking shots, and just plain vintage Tiger moves that got us all believing, and kept believing.

The 14-time major champion sailed this beauty to get to -8 on Saturday.

He placed the ball exactly where he needed to at Hole No. 3 on the same day for this smooth move.

If Tiger’s been criticized this year, it’s been for his lack of consistency. He’s pushed for the lead early on in events, only to disappoint by letting it go. On Sunday, that a was thing of the past. What doesn’t say consistent like back-to-back winners, like this smoking birdie at hole four?

And the hits just kept coming on Saturday.

Excitement built up to real belief by the end of the day.

As if “moving day” wasn’t exciting enough, the former world No. 1 just kept thrilling the crowd on Sunday with shots just like this.

And kept it up, maintaining a four shot lead over everyone on the final day.

And just like that, hands up in the air, it’s the first title in five years for the legendary golfer.

After five years, Woods has his 80th PGA win.

It’s great to have him back at the winner’s podium.

He clocked in six birdies just like that.

This time around, Woods clearly loved every bit of it.

The feeling of winning after a long draught means so much more now.

The final putt, set to Titanic music, of course.

Tiger Woods will be heading to the Ryder Cup next week, in Paris, as captain. Looks like he was the right pick to lead the US team. What a way to end the PGA season.
