Running back – Melvin Gordon

Melvin Gordon has amassed a total of 316 yards from scrimmage adding four total touchdowns. Even though the San Francisco 49ers have only allowed 97 yards a game on the ground thus far, they have also allowed 384 total yards a game. Why does Gordon benefit from this week four matchup?

Gordon has 17 receptions for 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns through three games. Last week going up against the Rams 10th-ranked defense, second against the pass and sixth against the rush. Gordon managed to find paydirt once again and muscle his way to 80 yards rushing and a touchdown on only 15 attempts.

He has shown the fantasy world he can produce at a high level even against an elite defense. Gordon is a must play every week barring injury. With the emergence of Austin Ekeler some have questioned if Melvin Gordon’s fantasy stock would drop. Through three weeks Gordon has shown no signs of slowing down even with a viable runner vulturing some of his production.

Melvin Gordon and the Los Angeles Chargers have surged their way to a third overall ranked offense, producing 415.3 total yards a game. Week 4 against the San Francisco defense they will not be slowed down and once again prove to us all they are a offensive powerhouse with not only one but two viable receiving threats in the backfield.

Projection: 100 yards rushing, 80 yards receiving, 3 total touchdowns.
