Tight end – Eric Ebron

Eric Ebron is an interesting story. Coming over from Detroit he just couldn’t seem to find a place alongside Matthew Stafford. A lot of speculation on how the Indianapolis Colts would use him is starting to become more clear. The presence of Jack Doyle, another solid tight end in his own right, clouded the fantasy impact of Ebron.

Through three weeks Ebron has 12 receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Week three against Philadelphia he was targeted 11 times. With Jack Doyle’s hip injury, Ebron was called upon to fill that void. In an offense ran by new head coach Frank Reich, who helped orchestrate Zack Ertz emergence to fantasy tight end glory.

Ebron is a safe play, especially against a Houston Texans defense who can’t seem to find their identity. Allowing a total of 350 yards a game, 238.3 passing yards and allowing 24.7 points a game, Ebron is a sneaky play Week 4.

With Jack Doyle being hampered by injury this early in the season, Ebron will take on a much bigger role. Taking over Doyle’s workload and helping this Colts offense be more balanced going forward. Ebron already seems to be having more success with his new quarterback Andrew Luck.

Projection: 8 receptions, 97 yards receiving, 1 TD
