Group of 5 power rankings, Week 5: Can anyone hang with UCF?
By Daniel Stave
2. Boise State Broncos (MWC) 2-1
Boise remains at 2 in the rankings. They had a bye in Week 4, so they will have two weeks to think about the loss to Oklahoma State before hitting the field again. They have five straight conference games before a matchup with BYU on November 3.
Up next: Saturday at Wyoming.
1. Central Florida Knights (AAC) 3-0
The Knights were forced to take a week off with their previous game getting canceled due to Hurricane Florence. Their offense didn’t miss a beat when they returned to play Friday night against Florida Atlantic.
McKenzie Milton may be a sleeper Heisman candidate if he continues to play at this level. He had six touchdowns, three passing and three rushing, in the 56-36 win. Milton had 306 yards passing and ran for 81 more. FAU’s offense kept them in the game, trailing only 21-17 at halftime but the UCF offense proved to be too much. UCF wraps up non-conference play next week.
Up next: Saturday vs. Pittsburgh.
