College Football picks against the spread September 27-28, 2018

There are no hurricanes bearing down on the U.S. this week. We just have some scheduled pre-Saturday college football games. They aren’t as exciting as last week, but we still have conference games in the ACC and Pac 12 in the three game slate.

More from College Football Odds

I haven’t completely finished with last weekend’s games yet, so my picks from last week haven’t all been tallied. That article will be up soon, but first, the picks for the three games before our football Saturday!

For those of you that are new to this, I pick every college football game every week. Not a top five. Not a top ten. All of them. Big deal, right? Lots of people make picks. Well, I do them all against the spread! I take the odds of each game and average them out at all the Vegas casinos and round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football.

I also assign a point value based on the confidence I have in each pick. 1 means that I have little to no confidence. 5 is one I would place a decent wager on. I keep track of my record and my points back from year to year. I went 400-75 last season and ended up with 31 points in my point bank. I am aiming for 55% this year. It’s harder than it looks!

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for the loss of money, possessions, spouses, or limbs because of my picks. I can’t have that on my conscious.

Without further delay, here are the early picks for week 5!

North Carolina at (16)Miami(FL)(-18.5)(2): The Hurricanes looked much better after switching quarterbacks last week, but at the same time, this is a pretty tough line for a freshman to cover. Beating on FIU is one thing. Can they do it to a name team? Maybe, because Carolina is just a name right now. Give me Miami.

Memphis(-13.5) at Tulane(3): The Memphis offense isn’t quite as explosive as in years past, but it’s still pretty darn good. Darrell Henderson could cover this by himself. Give me Memphis.

UCLA at Colorado(-9.5)(5): UCLA is getting (too much) name respect here. How this line is under double digits, I don’t know. Colorado is tough at home even when their team isn’t very good. They could run off with this. Give me the Ralphies.
