Rob Gronkowski gets on track against the Dolphins

There have been rumbles this week regarding Rob Gronkowski’s frustration with the New England Patriots offense. The past two weeks have seen his targets go down and a lack of overall production.

A lot of this can be tied to the lack of weapons surrounding Gronkowski. He is by far the Patriots most dangerous receiving threat and defenses plan accordingly.

Last week’s performance against the Detroit Lions was a major struggle for the entire Patriots offense. They were only able to manage a total of 209 yards which is well below what a Tom Brady led offense averages.

The Patriots face division rival Miami Dolphins this weekend and will be looking to get things on track. Miami currently sits atop the AFC East which puts a little more importance on this game.

Gronkowski is in prime position to have a big game. The media attention surrounding his struggles, New England’s struggles last week and the potential debt of Josh Gordon creates a perfect storm. Gordon may not fully know the offense, but he’s a special talent and will demand attention.

The Dolphins will still pay plenty of attention to Gronkowski, but things could ease up a little with Gordon in the mix.
