Chelsea and Liverpool drew 1-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, Sept. 27. Here are all the highlights from the match.

Chelsea and Liverpool played out the game of the Premier League season so far on Saturday, a breathless 1-1 draw that both teams had multiple chances to win, the defining moment Daniel Sturridge’s superb late equalizer.

The game began at a breathless pace, with both sides willing to commit numbers forward in attack. Mohamed Salah got space near the top of the box on two occasions early on, only to miss the target.

Chelsea looked particularly dangerous playing direct balls in behind Liverpool’s full-backs, who were pushing high up the pitch. Willian got in after 20 minutes, but was denied by an excellent save by Allison.

Hazard opened the scoring less than five minutes later, after a wonderful move in midfield involving Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic. Hazard was played in down the right side of Liverpool’s defense and finished with an excellent left-footed shot.

The Reds almost equalized within 10 minutes, but Salah’s effort was cleared off the line by Antonio Rudiger after he had gotten goal side of David Luiz and rounded Kepa in the Chelsea goal.

The second half followed much the same pattern, with both teams continuing to get forward. Though as Liverpool chased the game, the Blues found more and more space in behind. Hazard should have scored in the 64th minute, but was denied by Allison.

Jurgen Klopp brought on Xherdan Shaqiri for Salah with 25 minutes to go. The Swiss international was involved immediately, but wasted Liverpool’s best chance of the game in the 70th minute, skewing wide unmarked from 10 yards.

Liverpool brought on Naby Keita and Sturridge as they chased the game. Chelsea’s defense looked solid enough, until Sturridge picked up the ball 25 yards out and whipped a vicious shot past Kepa into the top corner.
