Heading to Beaver Stadium for a showdown between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions set things up for great College GameDay signs.

ESPN actually had some tough decisions to make in Week 5 of the 2018 college football season as to where they should take College GameDay. With two top-10 matchups, another top-25 matchup and a plethora of heated conference games, the options were plentiful. At the end of the day, however, heading to Happy Valley for the Penn State Nittany Lions welcoming the Ohio State Buckeyes was the natural choice.

Ranked fourth in the country, the Buckeyes come into this matchup already having one signature win over TCU to their credit. Even without defensive star Nick Bosa, this team is stacked with talent, and quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been lights-out in his first run as the starter.

Penn State, meanwhile, almost got their season off to an incredibly rocky start, nearly getting upset by Appalachian State. They survived, however, and the ninth-ranked Nittany Lions have kept a perfect record since, doing so with an offensive explosion week-after-week led by Miles Sanders and Trace McSorley.

These are clearly two of the best two teams in the country, but also two historic programs — for reasons good and bad. As such, the great College GameDay signs were practically writing themselves heading into this matchup, which is what the stay-at-home fans were surely waiting on. How did they do outside of Beaver Stadium on Saturday morning though?
