Defense/Special Teams

Tennessee Titans @ Buffalo Bills – $4000

No surprise here. It seems that any decent defense facing the Buffalo Bills will get a top priced spot for the week. Buffalo’s offense is a mess and rookie quarterback Josh Allen is the perfect quarterback for fantasy defenses. Allen is typically found running into sacks or “trusting his arm” into interception. It’s clear he is a work in progress which is good news for Tennessee’s defense. The Titans held the Eagles to 23 points. Tennessee is fourth in points allowed per game thanks in part to the arrival of some new pieces throughout the defense. Look for them to get after Allen for sacks and forecd turnover.

Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks – $3800

Another team that revamped critical pieces of their defense this offseason was the Los Angeles Rams. They added veterans to make a run at a Super Bowl and it looks to be working. The Rams are the second highest scoring defense. They play the Seahawks whose offense has been surprisingly competent. The offensive line is still a weakness in Seattle which makes Aaron Donald and company happy. If both Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib play in this game the Rams are going to put on an impressive performance.

Value Defense/Special Teams

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns – $2800

It is hard to find value this week on the defensive side of the ball. The Baltimore Ravens may offer the only opportunity outside of the top five. Baltimore is set to get their best corner Jimmy Smith back this week. They’re playing a rookie quarterback who turned the ball over four times a week ago. Baker Mayfield is going to be good in this league but it is still a work in progress against a defense that held the Steelers to under 20 points a week ago.
