Is Venom in 3D? Find out if Marvel’s new Venom movie is in 3D, and how to get Venom 3D tickets and find Venom 3D showtimes.

With opening day for Venom just around the corner, fans are getting ready to see the next Marvel movie and asking an important question: is Venom in 3D?

If any movie would benefit from the 3D treatment, this would be the one. The Tom Hardy-led film tells the origin story of one of Marvel’s most iconic villains, as streetwise journalist Eddie Brock is introduced to an alien symbiote that wants to be his new best friend. And by “best friend,” what it’s really saying is it wants to use him as a host to achieve its own violent, remorseless ends.

In the trailer alone, there are a half-dozen shots of the symbiote attaching itself to Eddie, pulling back from Eddie, consuming other things and/or people, or otherwise flexing its alien muscle. Plus it drools all over everything and can spread itself in a dozen different directions. All of this is rife to be shown in three dimensions.

This isn’t a feel-good movie, and it would only get more creepy (and fun) if audiences thought that the symbiote was jumping off the screen and coming after them.

The good news is Marvel has figured that out. There are Venom 3D showtimes, and it’s super-easy to get Venom 3D tickets. Fans can go online to Fandango and pre-purchase tickets for their local theater now, in both standard 3D and the high-definition IMAX 3D. Some theaters are even lining up advance showings on Thursday night, so check the listings in your area.

All you have to do is decide how much you want to be scared, because seeing this movie in 3D will probably be good for a few nightmares. When the entire plot is about a nefarious entity that’s got no problem doing terrible things to terrible people, there’s going to be some violence.

There’s also going to be that giant tongue and all those sharp teeth coming right at you in three dimensions. It all adds up to pretty much the reason 3D movies were invented — to take the film experience to a whole other level that makes going to the movies feel like being inside the movie. Have fun!
