5. Danny Ings helps Southampton to stun Chelsea

On-loan Liverpool striker Danny Ings has found a bit of form in a Southampton shirt after a difficult time on Merseyside which involved injury and an unsurprising lack of game time. Ings even helped to the Saints to knock out Everton in the League Cup in midweek.

This weekend, Ings will look to add to his goalscoring tally as Southampton welcome Chelsea to St. Mary’s. Chelsea had a thrilling match last time they visited the south coast, coming from two behind to win 3-2.

Saints fans will want a repeat of the excitement but definitely not the same end result and this weekend they might get that wish. Chelsea are yet to lose in the league and might have been a little disappointed after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool last weekend.

The Blues controlled that match for long periods and Eden Hazard had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 but his effort was well saved by Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Allison. Maurizio Sarri will expect his team to get back to winning ways but this is a difficult away game.

Chelsea have won on their last three visits to St. Mary’s but in each match Southampton have been competitive. It’s almost impossible to keep Eden Hazard quiet for 90 minutes but if Southampton can keep him out the game for extended periods then they’ll stand a chance of taking something from the match.

Chelsea will lose their unbeaten record this weekend with Danny Ings scoring for Southampton and Saints running out 2-1 winners in what should be an entertaining match.
