A toddler shredded money his parents saved to pay for their Utah football season tickets, but Dr Pepper swooped in to save the day.

I think we can all agree that saving money is a tough chore. There are so many temptations to splurge and treat yourself to something nice. Not to mention the proliferation of bills that are mounting every month.

So when Ben and Jackie Belnap had finally saved up the $1,060 needed to pay back Ben’s mom for their Utah football season tickets, you can understand how relieved they must have been to hit that target. But what happened next was anything but a relief.

When they went to retrieve the envelope that was holding all the cash for the football tickets, they couldn’t find it anywhere. Where oh where could it go?! Unfortunately for the Belnaps, the money was found…in the shredder after their toddler put it through and destroyed the cash.

Talk about terrible news, right?!

Thankfully, this story has a happy ending.

Dr Pepper, the official drink of fans, heard the news and offered to cover the cost of the tickets. Talk about a giant sigh of relief for the family. Dr Pepper is also about to become the official drink of the Belnaps after this wonderful gesture that is sure to fuel their fandom even more.

But wait, the good news keeps pouring in. After Dr Pepper heard the news and offered to cover the cost, the Utah football Twitter account caught wind of the news. Utah invited the family to be their official guests on the sideline for the pregame for next Friday’s game against Arizona.

What started as a total catastrophe and disaster for the Belnaps ended in the most wonderful way possible. Not only will the destroyed money be recouped by Dr Pepper covering the cost, but Utah is also inviting them to the field for next week’s game.

This is a fan experience that has a happy ending and I think I’m going to have a dozen Dr Pepper’s like I’m Forrest Gump this weekend to celebrate this outstanding move to help out dedicated fans.
