Fantasy Football Rankings Breakdown, Week 5
Week 5 is already upon us and it’s time to get to Fantasy Football Rankings fpr all the relevant fantasy football players for this week, even including tight ends!
It’s pretty crazy we’re already approaching the halfway point of the fantasy football season and this is one post that doesn’t need much of an introduction. Everyone loves Fantasy Football Rankings and that’s what we’re here to do so let’s dive in!
Quarterback, Week 5 – Fantasy Football Rankings
1. Ben Roethlisberger, vs Atlanta Falcons – He’s due for a bounce back performance against one of the worst defenses in football
2. Matt Ryan, at Pittsburgh Steelers – Remember a couple weeks ago when the Chiefs and Steelers put up over 70 points? It’s part two, the Electric Bugaloo this week.
3. Drew Brees, vs Washington Redskins
4. Deshaun Watson, vs Dallas Cowboys
5. Philip Rivers, vs Oakland Raiders
6. Jared Goff, at Seattle Seahawks – Without Earl Thomas, the Rams offense should slice through this defense with little resistance
7. Cam Newton, vs New York Giants
8. Aaron Rodgers, at Detroit Lions – This could change if all three of his receivers are out
9. Patrick Mahomes, vs Jacksonville Jaguars
10. Blake Bortles, at Kansas City Chiefs – I’m worried I don’t have The Snake high enough
11. Carson Wentz, vs Minnesota Vikings
12. Kirk Cousins, at Philadelphia Eagles
13. Derek Carr, at Los Angeles Chargers
14. Alex Smith, at New Orleans Saints
15. Matthew Stafford, vs Green Bay Packers – Stafford probably doesn’t deserve to be this low but it’s very hard to sort through them
15. Andy Dalton, vs Miami Dolphins
16. Marcus Mariota, at Buffalo Bills
17. Joe Flacco, at Cleveland Browns
18. Russell Wilson, vs Los Angeles Rams – I can see this one biting me but the Rams always seem to do well against Wilson
19. Baker Mayfield, vs Baltimore Ravens
20. Josh Rosen, at San Francisco 49ers – I think the rookie might surprise here
22. Ryan Tannehill, at Cincinnati Bengals
23. Dak Prescott, at Houston Texans
24. Eli Manning, at Carolina Panthers
25. Case Keenum, at New York Jets – Keenum hasn’t thrown a touchdown since Week 1 so…he’s due, I guess
26. C.J. Beathard, vs Arizona Cardinals
27. Sam Darnold, vs Denver Bronos
28. Josh Allen, vs Tennessee Titans
Running Backs, Week 5 – Fantasy Football Rankings
1. Todd Gurley, at Seattle Seahawks
2. Melvin Gordon, vs Oakland Raiders – It’s too hard to not put Gurley at number one but Gordon is in line for a monster day
3. David Johnson, at San Francisco 49ers
4. Ezekiel Elliott, at Houston Texans
5. Alvin Kamara, vs Washington Redskins – It’s going to be fascinating to see how the Saints deploy him and Mark Ingram
5. Christian McCaffrey, vs New York Giants
6. Saquon Barkley, at Carolina Panthers
7. James Conner, vs Atlanta Falcons – I don’t expect the running game to get going but the reception floor is way too high to leave Conner out of the top 10
8. T.J. Yeldon, at Kansas City Chiefs
9. Marshawn Lynch, at Los Angeles Chargers
10. Kareem Hunt, vs Jacksonville Jaguars – Was his involvement in the passing game something that will happen again or just a mirage?
11. Chris Thompson, at New Orleans Saints
12. Carlos Hyde, vs Baltimore Ravens
13. Matt Breida, vs Arizona Cardinals
14. Mark Ingram, vs Washington Redskins – He’s going to see some work here and I’m starting him in my leagues
15. Aaron Jones, at Detroit Lions – Green Bay is totally banged up at receiver and this is going to be the breakout for Jones
16. Alex Collins, at Cleveland Browns
17. Kerryon Johnson, vs Green Bay Packers
18. Dion Lewis, at Buffalo Bills
19. Joe Mixon, vs Miami Dolphins – We’ll see if he can take on a full load but the Bengals should give us one more update
20. Devonta Freeman, at Pittsburgh Steelers – He’s the red zone threat in a highly projected game
21. Jay Ajayi, vs Minnesota Vikings
22. Derrick Henry, at Buffalo Bills
23. Lamar Miller, vs Dallas Cowboys
24. Tevin Coleman, at Pittsburgh Steelers – I wouldn’t put too much into Freeman playing at this point
25. Gio Bernard, vs Miami Dolphins
26. LeSean McCoy, vs Tennessee Titans
27. Phillip Lindsay, at New York Jets
28. Austin Ekeler, vs Oakland Chargers
29. Royce Freeman, at New York Jets
30. Bilal Powell, vs Denver Broncos – He could see a few extra targets if Quincy Enunwa is getting shut down by Chris Harris
31. Kenyan Drake, at Cincinnati Bengals
32. Buck Allen, at Cleveland Browns
33. Isaiah Crowell, vs Denver Broncos
34. Chris Carson, vs Los Angeles Rams
35. Mark Whalton, vs Denver Broncos – If Gio and Mixon can’t play, Walton would be the last man standing. If they play, he’s not playable at all

Wide Receiver, Week 5 – Fantasy Football Rankings
1. Julio Jones, vs Pittsburgh Steelers – This has to be the game where Julio scores and has one of his trademark monster games
2. DeAndre Hopkins, vs Dallas Cowboys
3. Antonio Brown, vs Atlanta Falcons
4. Michael Thomas, vs Washington Redskins
5. JuJu Smith-Schuster, vs Atlanta Falcons – Pittsburgh is likely going to need both receivers to have big games to win this game
6. Stefon Diggs, at Philadelphia Eagles
7. Keenan Allen, vs Oakland Raiders
8. Odell Beckham Jr., at Carolina Panthers
9. Adam Thielen, at Philadelphia Eagles – The weakness of the Philly defense is through the air so both receivers should have big days
10. A.J. Green, vs Miami Dolphins
11. Brandin Cooks, at Seattle Seahawks
12. Davante Adams, at Detroit Lions – The Green Bay receivers might not play in this game but I would lean Adams gives it a go
13. Tyreek Hill, vs Jacksonville Jaguars – Corner Jalen Ramsey was up to his usual trash talking already so I’m interested to see if it motivates Hill even more
14. Golden Tate, at Green Bay Packers
15. Jarvis Landry, vs Baltimore Ravens – The matchup is tough but Landry should still see a lot of targets
16. Cooper Kupp, at Seattle Seahawks
17. Marvin Jones, vs Green Bay Packers – Jones has crushed the Packers in his career
18. John Brown, at Cleveland Browns
19. Amari Cooper, at Los Angeles Chargers
20. Calvin Ridley, at Pittsburgh Steelers
21. Emmanuel Sanders, at New York Jets
22. Kenny Golladay, vs Green Bay Packers – I’m not sure how often Golladay will be third among the Detroit receivers
23. Robert Woods, at Seattle Seahawks
24. Tyler Boyd, vs Miami Dolphins
25. Sterling Shepard, at Carolina Panthers
26. Will Fuller, vs Dallas Cowboys – If I knew he was healthy, he’d be higher on the list
27. Demaryius Thomas, at New York Jets
28. Corey Davis, at Buffalo Bills
29. Dede Westbrook, at Kansas City Chiefs
30. Doug Baldwin, vs Los Angeles Rams – The Seahawks are going to be chasing the points in this one
31. Geronimo Allison, at Detroit Lions
32. Devin Funchess, vs New York Giants
33. Alshon Jeffery, vs Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings defense is vulnerable but Xavier Rhodes is still a challenge for Jeffery
34. Keelan Cole, at Kansas City Chiefs
35. Larry Fitzgerald, at San Francisco 49ers
Tight End, Week 5 -Fantasy Football Rankings
1. Zach Ertz, vs Minnesota Vikings – If the Eagles go away from Rhodes, Ertz could potentially see even more work
2. Travis Kelce, vs Jacksonville Jaguars – Can he crack this Jaguars defense?
3. Jared Cook, at Los Angeles Chargers – He’s actually the target leader on the Raiders
4. George Kittle, vs Arizona Cardinals – The 49ers offense is trying to tread water and Kittle is a key component
5. Jimmy Graham, at Detroit Lions – He might be the focal point of an offense that has no receivers if they all sit

6. Jordan Reed, at New Orleans Saints – Reed is a good tight end regardless but the Redskins are going to have to throw a lot
7. Austin Hooper, at Pittsburgh Steelers – I’ll take a tight end that’s getting the snaps in this kind of a shootout game
8. Vance McDonald, vs Atlanta Falcons – Vance saw his snaps bump up last week and there’s no reason to think that doesn’t continue
9. Kyle Rudolph, at Philadelphia Eagles – I’m not even a big fan of Rudolph this week but you can’t leave him out of the top 10
10. Ricky Seals-Jones, at San Francisco 49ers – The 49ers have given up four touchdowns to tight ends already
11. David Njoku, vs Baltimore Ravens – Njoku could be an important safety valve for Mayfield against a tough defense
12. Ben Watson, vs Washignton Redskins – Even if the Saints run a little more, Watson should still get some work here
13. Antonio Gates, vs Oakland Raiders – The old guy has been heating up a little bit the past two games
14. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, at Kansas City Chiefs – The Jaguars passing game might be more important than normal this week
15. Jeff Heuerman, at Denver Broncos – He saw seven targets this past week and maybe that becomes the new normal
