Is Georgia out of the College Football Playoff after losing to LSU?

The Georgia Bulldogs went on the road to Death Valley and things did not go as planned as LSU handed them their first loss of the year.
The Georgia Bulldogs are now 6-1 (4-1) on the season after losing to LSU in Death Valley. Georgia isn’t the first team to lose to the Tigers on the road in a high stakes matchup, and all hope is not lost for their College Football Playoff chances.
First things first, losing to a one-loss LSU team in Death Valley is not a bad loss. What it does do is make the margin for error a lot smaller than it would have been had Georgia won. This is essentially a repeat of what happened to the Dawgs last year. They went to Auburn and got beat down, but still went on to win the SEC and make the Playoff.
This year the road to the Playoff is no different for Georgia. Luckily for them, they have a bye week next to look at the film and correct the mistakes they made. They also have the added benefit (or burden however you want to look at it) of being in the middle of the toughest part of their schedule.
After their bye week Georgia will play Florida in Jacksonville, then travel to Kentucky and then play at home vs. Auburn. Georgia will be favored to win all of those games, and Auburn suddenly doesn’t look all that imposing after a very lackluster showing in their loss to Tennessee.
If Kirby Smart’s team wins all three of those games (which they don’t have a choice) then they’d, in turn, win the SEC East, and would likely face Alabama or LSU in the SEC Championship Game. If the Dawgs win the SEC, they’re locked into one of the four Playoff berths.
This is all easier said than done, but they did it last year and they can do it again this year.
