Doctor Who season 11, episode 2 live stream: Watch The Ghost Monument online

The Doctor’s three companions are on an alien world for the first time this week, but does the Doctor simply want them to return home?

The Thirteenth Doctor has her wits, her sonic screwdriver and some proper clothes after the Doctor Who season 11 premiere, but all is not well as we head into episode 2, “The Ghost Monument.”

For starters, the Doctor intended to bid the three humans who helped her become herself again goodbye as she teleported off the Earth to continue her search for the TARDIS. In the final seconds of the premiere, she discovered that didn’t quite happen, and Ryan, Yaz and Graham were transported away in her wake. As they were floating in space last time we saw them, she’ll have to work quickly to save them.

They’ll end up on an alien word for the first time in “The Ghost Monument,” with the teaser looking very much like the Doctor simply wants to keep them alive and send them home. Whether this Doctor has lost the taste for traveling with companions should be a very interesting early season theme.

Then there’s the not so insignificant matter of the TARDIS. We know it exploded at the end of season 10, something it’s done before. But what caused it to do so and its whereabouts are still unknown, and both could be major plot points for the rest of the season.
