DFS Golf: The CJ Cup – Primer and Course Preview

On October 18th, The CJ Classic will kick off at Nine Bridges

We are in the midst of the considered golf “off-season” where there aren’t as many high stakes, groundbreaking tournaments but us DFS Golf diehards love this time because these competitions aren’t as difficult to predict! In last week’s primer we listed many golfers who had previously done well at that tournament, and let me tell you, they all played relatively well.

For anyone that is new to the FanSided – FantasyCPR DFS Golf Primer & Course Preview, this is a tool that all Fantasy Golf players can use to help build their lineups heading into the golf week. The goal and purpose of this article is to give the owners food for thought and a general rundown of what to expect for the upcoming weekend. No more nonsense, let’s get into it.

The Course

The CJ Classic’s actual name is “The CJ Cup at Nine Bridges“. This tournament is located in Jeju, South Korea and is fairly new to the PGA Tour. Nine Bridges is your typical 18 hole golf course, Par 72, and has 7,196 yards of link to it. It plays similar to last week’s course, which could be the reason that the same people who typically perform well at TPC Kuala Lumpur also perform well at The CJ Classic. We’re looking at another course that is heavily bunkered and but could be a better matchup for bombers than one would expect. The course makeup would favor heavy hitters who can gain a lot of distance in a limited amount of strokes. This course is famous for having a lot of wind, which should be fun to watch golfers work with. Experience could play a major role as to who performs well at this tourney. Keep your eyes peeled for a great performance for one of the many vets on tour to have a great outing at this course.

As far as how the course will play, both the fairways and greens are Bentgrass. Take that for what it’s worth, it is highly maintained due to the fact that it is not native. This should help give you perspective as to how well this course is kept.

One quick note to think about: Nine Bridges is the only Par 72 that landed in the top 6 hardest courses in 2018.

Also there is no cut in this tournament!
