2019 NFL Mock Draft: Chargers find successor for Philip Rivers
By Brad Weiss
The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the more inconsistent teams in the NFL this season, as they have had to battle with injuries on both sides of the ball. Luckily for them, they escaped against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 with a victory, as they looked like they were heading to 1-5 for most of the afternoon.
When it comes to the Falcons, they have so many weapons on offense, and they certainly know how to put up points. The defense has been an issue all season long, and in a very tough NFC South division, they are going to have to get things figured out if they are going to make another playoff run in 2018.
Up front on offense, the Falcons need some more talent, and that is where they should draft in the first round next year. Of course, if they get hot, they will likely not be picking this early in round one, but if they are, a guy like David Edwards from Wisconsin could be a very solid addition to their offensive line.
Edwards has been one of the best offensive tackles in college football for a few years now, and is one of the more NFL-ready prospects in this draft class. Protecting Matt Ryan is a priority in Atlanta, and in Edwards, they would have an anchor on their offensive line for years to come, which is exactly what this franchise needs.
