4. Back the Vikings -3.5 at the Jets

The Vikings haven’t played like anyone really expected them to this season. The defense hasn’t played nearly up to the lofty expectations placed on the group.

The good news is that Kirk Cousins has played like a Pro Bowl at the game’s most important position. As a result, the offense has ended up being the better side of the football for Mike Zimmer through six games.

Both groups have a chance to experience success on Sunday against the Jets. Sam Darnold has been a fun story to start the year, but he’s still making rookie mistakes at the quarterback position. Don’t be surprised of the Vikings find a way to confuse him and end up with a couple of big interceptions in the process.

The Vikings offense won’t march the ball up and down the field against this surprisingly competent Jets defense, but they’ll find a way to score some points. Cousins is very used to playing against the Jets from his time with the Redskins. Nothing they’re going to throw at him on defense will catch him off guard.

In the end, this game feels like a touchdown victory for the Vikings to us. Don’t go crazy with a tease, but taking Minnesota -3.5 gives you a few points for comfort.
