C.J. Beathard provides some bye week relief to quarterback needy owners

Nobody is pushing for C.J. Beathard to replace Jimmy Garoppolo as the San Francsico 49ers franchise quarterback. However, he has shown some real promise in the past two weeks. It looks like after a full season working with Kyle Shanahan he is more comfortable.

Beathard is completing over 60% of his passes while also throwing six touchdowns in three games. He has been a little turnover prone, but that doesn’t have a huge impact on his fantasy numbers.

The chemistry with Marquise Goodwin he showed last week is something that really jumps out. Goodwin had a strong showing last year and is finally healthy. These two could really do some damage this week against the Los Angeles Rams.

Another key to a potential big game for Beathard is how badly the 49ers defense is performing. This group is allowing a ton of points and now face one of the better offenses in the league.

Beathard and the 49ers offense will need to score early and often in order to keep pace with the Rams. Even if the game gets out of control, we could see Beathard get some points in the always fun garbage time.
