Tottenham beat West Ham 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, Oct. 20. Here are all the highlights from the match.

Tottenham moved onto 21 points after nine matches, their best ever start to a Premier League season, with a 1-0 win against West Ham on Saturday, Erik Lamela’s first-half header the difference between the sides.

Spurs started brightly pegging back an attacking Hammers starting XI — Felipe Anderson, Robert Snodgrass, Marko Arnautovic and Andriy Yarmolenko all started — but failed to create any clear-cut chances.

The game quickly got ugly, with neither side creating much and struggling to connect in attack. It seemed the most notable moment of the first half may have been an injury to Yarmolenko, who was taken to hospital.

The first good sight of goal for either side came in the 44th minute, when Lamela headed in Mousa Sissoko’s cross into the bottom corner. It was a nice enough move, but it said a lot that it had taken almost 45 minute for either side to create a decent chance.

The second half wasn’t much better, as West Ham pushed forward in search of an equalizer and Tottenham tried to see out the win. The highlights were two superbs save by Hugo Lloris from Arnautovic.

The first, a full-stretch diving stop, was probably better, but the second came in the 90th minute, as Arnautovic had found space behind Tottenham’s defense, only for Lloris to spring of his line and smother the forward’s shot.
