FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – October 22, 2018
High Salary SG
Players costing over $6,667
Jimmy Butler (vs IND – $9,600): Needs 39.9 fantasy points. Butler rested on Saturday and the Timberwolves lost. You know what that means, right? Butler is going to try and take over the way he’s tried to take over in the first two games and in practice. The Pacers haven’t shown much in the first two games and I’m not doubting angry Butler right now. At the very least, he’s going to give you value. And with this matchup and his mindset, I’m expecting much more. Diagnosis: Angry Jimmy Butler is out for blood.
Zach LaVine (at DAL – $7,600): Needs 31.6 fantasy points. Zach LaVine is looking like an MVP candidate early in the season. Right now, he looks like one of those “good players on a bad team” which means he’s a great player for DFS. LaVine is averaging 41.3 fantasy points on the young season. The Mavericks probably won’t be the team to slow him down. Diagnosis: He’ll cool off at some point, but while he’s hot, keep playing him. The matchup is a good one.
Luka Doncic (vs CHI – $7,500): Needs 31.2 fantasy points. After a mediocre rookie debut, Doncic responded with 40.7 fantasy points against the Timberwolves. Minnesota didn’t play much in the way of defense, but it’s not like the Bulls will offer much more resistance. Doncic does a little bit of everything and showed why so many think highly of him coming out of the draft. Diagnosis: Good matchup and, based on what we saw in game two, the ability to put up big numbers.
