High Value PG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (at NO – $4,500): Needs 19.2 fantasy points. Gilgeous-Alexander has been hit-and-miss in his rookie season, which is typically how it does for rookies. The Pelicans defense remains suspect despite their hot start. He chips in with rebounds and assists, which helps his value even when he’s not scoring. Diagnosis: An inconsistent rookie, but a good matchup and gets playing time.

TJ McConnell (at DET – $4,000): Needs 17.1 fantasy points. If Ben Simmons doesn’t play, McConnell proved last season that he can step up in his absence. With Fultz in the lineup, McConnell won’t have quite the same opportunities, but this salary is low enough to where he should produce without Simmons. If Simmons plays, McConnell will struggle to hit value. Diagnosis: Could be a steal if Simmons doesn’t suit up.

Monte Morris (vs SAC – $3,600): Needs 15.4 fantasy points. If Jamal Murray doesn’t end up playing or is as ineffective as he was against the Warriors, Morris will have another opportunity to step up. He’s been hit-and-miss this season, but the Kings are always a great matchup and the circumstances could line up nicely for him. Diagnosis: Very low-cost option who could easily have a big game with the injuries and the matchup.

Quick Hits

Ish Smith ($4,600): Smith is going to get better as the season goes along if we learned anything about Casey and how he runs the bench. He’s already a good low-cost option.
