DFS Golf: WGC HSBC Champions - OB's FanDuel Lineup Advice

The HSBC Champions Tourney will kick off on Thursday October 24th in Shanghai China and we are here with our DFS Golf Picks.

OB’s DFS Golf lineup is a FanDuel lineup created on Tuesday every week for people seeking guidance in the DFS Golf world. All the information provided can be used to help DFS PGA players on all platforms for the HSBC Champions.

I am trying to have a little more fun with this column and include less statistical analysis. So while these picks are based off of stats and numbers, the descriptions and instructions may reflect my thoughts and feelings on this tourney. This is for fun right? The answer is yes, fun and money.

This is the first tournament this season where we get a semi-full slate, so feel free to customize this lineup however you would like.

OB’s Lineup

This week I actually found it easy to throw this lineup together. This could be a good thing or a terrible thing, we will see.

Dustin Johnson ($12,600)

Johnson is my favorite golfer at the top of this slate and is, in my book, the best golfer in the world. The only reason that I don’t have Koepka listed here is because I don’t typically like to play a winner the week after. That being said, it would not surprise me if Koepka won this tournament. The string of performances on bentgrass is a real thing.

Hideki Matsuyama ($11,400)

Being able to slot in Matsuyama for $11,400 is a blessing. I’m stacking the top of my lineups with stellar talents like the two already listed because there is a lot of value in the lower ranges. Hideki was seriously only poor in his second round of The CJ Cup and still placed within the top 20. This is not only a great, but reliable pick in the 11k range.

Brandt Snedeker ($9,500)

Snedeker is the type of professional that I want on all of my teams this week (along with another guy that we’ll discuss later. Not only do I think Snedeker has the safest floor in the 9k range I think he has the most valid experience in these fields. He’s a perfect fit for this tournament, therefore I am locking him into all of my lineups. 9k is disrespectful.

Emilliano Grillo ($9,400)

This pick is the complete opposite of Snedeker. Which is a high-flying, boom or bust candidate that could most certainly come back to blow up in your face. That isn’t important though, because were decorating the rest of our lineup with the studs so we can afford a potential dud. I thought about Kevin Na here but he has burned me recently so kick him to the curb let’s roll out Grillo the young gunner who can win us some cash this week. He’s been playing well enough that I think he has a true shot at this thing.

Chez Reavie ($8,300)

This is the guy I was talking about earlier. Reavie and Snedeker link in the sense that they are both relatively underpriced vets who are going to keep your lineups afloat while DJ, Grillo, and Matsuyama kill it for you. The upside is capped, but so is the downside. I roster Reavie quite often. Not as often as C.T. Pan, but quite often.

C.T. Pan ($8,200)

I miss the days of a 7k Pan. I’ll still play him though, he always outperforms his price. It wouldn’t be a weekly OB’s lineup without C.T. Pan, sorry golf world. Sorry for the short description, Pan is my guy.
