FLEX: Marlon Mack, Indianpolis Colts- $6,700

Defense: San Francisco 49ers- $3,900

The Indianapolis Colts’ game plan when it comes to their back field has been using the running back by committee approach. Jordan Wilkins has had a majority of the touches, while Nyheim Hines has played a role in the run and pass game. The third back, who has had arguably the most success is Mack.

Mack leads the team with 249 yards on the ground and one touchdown. He also leads the team with three carries for over 20 yards. The second-year back had a breakout performance last week against the Buffalo Bills. Mack rushed for over 100 yards for the firs time in his career (126 yards) and scored one touchdown. He padded his stats with two receptions for 33 yards and another touchdown.

He finished the afternoon with 30.9 fantasy, second most at the position, fifth most in the entire league. This week the Colts take on a 1-5 Oakland Raiders team that is becoming dysfunctional.

The Raiders have allowed 674 yards on the ground, nine most in the league. Three times this season the Raiders have surrendered at least 100 yards to backs, including last week against the Seattle Seahawks.

Opposing backs are averaging 25 fantasy points per game against the Raiders, 9th most in the league. After Mack’s dominating performance in Week 7, the Colts will lean on him this week.

Similar to last week, the defensive choice is based on the matchup and that’s why the San Francisco 49ers are the play. The 49ers’ defense has given up a ton of points, but they take on a Cardinals team that can’t score.

Arizona is averaging 13.1 points pr game, 31st in the NFL. Overall, the Cardinals are the worst offense in the NFL, averaging 220.7 yards per game. Starting quarterback Josh Rosen threw three interceptions in last week’s game and was forced to leave the game with a toe injury. Despite the injury, Rosen is expected to play against the 49ers.

In their first meeting in Week 5, the 49ers allowed 28 points to the Cardinals, but don’t let that scare you. This is going to be a sloppy game, take advantage of the opportunity because there won’t be many where you select the 49ers as your defense.
