Darqueze Dennard – DB, Vontaze Burfict – LB, Nick Vigil – LB – CIN
Cincinnati’s injury woes only get worse, as they’ll now be without slot corner, Darqueze Dennard, Vontaze Burfict and Nick Vigil.
Actionable Takeaway: This is a tough blow for the Bengals coming off of a routing in Kansas City. Things wont get any easier for the defense, as they’ll face an effective Tampa Bay offense. The injuries to the linebackers should allow tightends like O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate to find more space over the middle. The loss of Dennard should benefit Adam Humphries running out of the slot. Tampa Bay spreads the ball out pretty well, so it’s tough to nail down the pass catcher that could have a big day, but Jameis is in a fantastic spot this week.
A.J. Bouye – DB – Jaguars
A.J. Bouye injured his calf during Wednesday’s practice and did not make the trip to London for this weeks’ game.
Actionable Takeaway: In addition to Bouye’s injury, slot corner Tyler Patton will also miss this week. In what wouldn’t appear to be a great spot for the Philadelphia offense, could actually have sneaky upside given how Jacksonville has been playing and the injuries. Wentz should continue to see progress with each passing week and if the offensive line can hold up, the Eagles’ receivers could find separation. It would appear as if the betting lines agree, with Philadelphia moving to the key, of -3, and the total ticking up a full 2 points.
Kwon Alexander – LB – Buccaneers
Kwon Alexander suffered a torn ACL last week against the Browns and Adarius Stewart should fill his place.
Actionable Takeaway: While I do expect Tampa Bay to be able to score at will, I think the Bengals have some matchup advantages of their own, on offense. Tampa is ranked 32nd in defensive efficiency, the worst in the league and 32nd against the pass (FootballOutsiders). Targeting opposing offenses against the Bucs in DFS has been fruitful, and without Alexander, I would expect more of the same this week.
