This was the Boston College team we’ve been looking to see all season long. The Eagles rode A.J. Dillon to a big home victory over Miami. He absolutely punished the Hurricanes defense to the tune of 149 yards on 32 carries.

The Eagles defense also showed up big in this one. They forced Malik Rosier into a ton of mistakes including two interceptions. Boston College is at their best when they run the football and force turnovers. That’s exactly how they knocked Miami off on Saturday.

Dave Doeren’s team is fortunate not to drop in this week’s power rankings. They stay at No. 3 largely due to the chaos behind them. Their effort at Syracuse certainly wasn’t very impressive.

Ryan Finley and the Wolfpack offense did their job, but their defense was awful in this one. They made Eric Dungey and company look like Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. If NC State’s secondary doesn’t improve down the stretch, Ryan Finley is going to have to throw for 500 yards per game to keep his team competitive.

Brian Kelly may not have enjoyed the travel to San Diego, but his team gave him a pretty solid performance on the West Coast. Specifically, Ian Book carved up the Navy defense for 330 yards passing and two touchdowns on just 33 pass attempts.

The Fighting Irish defense wasn’t great, but they did enough to win the game comfortably. Forcing two turnovers by the Midshipmen certainly helped Notre Dame’s chances. The unit will need to play better moving forward, but they won’t face another triple option attack this season.

Clemson allowed Florida State to get their home fans excited for a few minutes, but then they thoroughly outclassed the Seminoles. Admittedly, this isn’t a vintage FSU squad, but this still might have been the Tigers’ most impressive performance of the season.

The defensive line made victory for Clemson a foregone conclusion, but Trevor Lawrence had the best game of his young career. He threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns to put the game out of reach. As long as he stays healthy, no one in orange is going to miss Kelly Bryant this season.
