DFS Golf: Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

The Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 1st.

Hello and welcome to another weekly edition of OB’s Lineup, where we create an optimal cash lineup to help build your bankroll for the upcoming golf week. This column is written weekly from the dining commons of my university and is a pure reflection of the cash lineups I will be playing. I put my money where my mouth is, and hope to not only help you win some money, but have fun learning about the DFS Golf world as well.

Most of this information is built for FanDuel users but can apply to any DFS platform. So feel free to use this information as you please. I’m here to help so if you have any questions pertaining to Golf or Fantasy Football feel free to hit my twitter account @M08rien (the OB is a zero and an eight). I am also giving away a free David Johnson jersey there so check it out!

Note: I recommend you deviate this lineup to fit your own thoughts and insight. While you can plug this directly into your contests, feel free to make this your own!

OB’s Lineup

This week’s slate has a lot of value in the middle so I’m rolling with multiple guys in the 8-9.5k range.

Tony Finau ($12,000)

Finau is a little more pricey than usual but he has earned it. The young golfer has improved his game immensely and is now emerging as a top player on the tour. He is second in Birdie or Better Percentage and has been putting very well as of late. It’s hard to pass up Rickie at the top but I like Finau this weekend in Vegas.

Gary Woodland ($11,600)

Woodland actually is the only guy on this slate that I feel is a must start. He is coming off of two incredible performances at both The CJ Cup at Nine Bridges and the CIMB Classic. He has only had one round of golf in the past month where he shot over par. Woodland is the only person ahead of Finau in Birdie or Better Percentage. I like him a lot this week in Nevada. Stay in the flames with Gary.

Aaron Wise ($9,800)

Wise just missed the 10k range which makes him a very valuable asset this week for anyone looking to play cash games. He hasn’t competed in about a month but he was hot coming off of two straight T16 performances. Vegas has him at 23/1 odds to win and those numbers are good enough for me to slide him into my lineups. I trust his course knowledge and talent to perform this week.

Harold Varner ($9,300)

I feel like Varner is always a good play in cash because he has such a high floor and a low price that it’s inevitable that he ends up in my lineups. Varner and CT Pan make it into this column quite often because of this reason. He is also 19th in strokes gained: off the tee. Play him with confidence.

Bronson Burgoon ($9,000)

Edging 9k is a little pricey I feel for Burgoon but I am confident enough in him to play well this week that I’m sliding him into this lineup. He has been solid in all facets of the game lately and I have been riding hot clubs so here we are. This is a slot that you can play the guy that you are most confident in, mine is Burgoon.

Vaughn Taylor ($8,300)

I usually don’t play Taylor but I always like to include some sort of veteran presence in my lineup because I know they can hold down the fort with a safe floor and relatively mediocre ceiling. He is a great play at 8.3k and I am playing him as my one old guy.
