The Minnesota Vikings were one of the better stories in the NFL last season, as they came out of nowhere to make it all the way to the NFC Championship Game. Sure, they had tremendous talent on the defensive side of the ball, but they lost their quarterback and running back to injury early in the season, and had to rely on Case Keenum the rest of the way.

Coming into 2018, many expected the Vikings to be a Super Bowl contender, but they have been inconsistent on both sides of the ball, especially on defense. Their defense was one of the best in football last season, but off the field issues, and injuries have really hurt them as theyĀ  try to get back to the playoffs.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Vikings need more depth along the offensive line, and that is where they should use their draft pick in the first round. Adding a guy like Dalton Risner makes the entire unit better, as he is one of the more versatile offensive linemen in this draft class.

The team signed Kirk Cousins to a monster deal this offseason, so it would make sense that they add to the offensive line in the draft, as they need to protect that investment. Risner is a good-looking player who has the size to start right away in the NFL, and the Vikings definitely need that.
