O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $6,000

Stats: 419 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns

O.J. Howard has done something not a lot thought he could, and that’s take over the primary receiving role over Cameron Brate. It seemed Winston had found his go to guy in the red zone. Then here comes big O.J. Howard. He’s had a nice season compiling 24 receptions. His 34 targets is a sight for sore eyes at the tight end position. Week 9 we will see if there is any Fitzmagic left as Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start.

Both quarterbacks have targeted Howard eight or more times this season. Fitzpatrick, Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Winston, Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. Howard is matchup proof and quarterback proof going forward. Week 9 presents a optimal opportunity for Howard to stay hot. He will face the rival Carolina Panthers middle of the pack pass defense. Howard will see lots of volume in what could turn out to be a barnburner.

Next: Best NFL player from each state

Howard has surpassed 60 receiving yards in three straight games and five of his last six. Howard is exactly what we want not only in fantasy football as a whole but also on FanDuel. He presents an elite skill set at a cheap price each and every week. High volume, elite skill set, fantasy production, all lead to him being a must start every week. Howard won’t garner the kind of attention that Rob Gronkowski or Travis Kelce will each week but he will produce just like them.

Players like Howard are hard to find. He can play with any quarterback, he doesn’t become a victim of gameflow and he is heavily used each and every week. At the tight end position that is very hard to find. Place him in all of your lineups and let the points flow in and watch your lineups rise above the rest. Plus with his price tag you can use that extra money filling out the rest of your lineup. Throw in an Antonio Brown or Todd Gurley. Best part is you will get away with it and stay under the cap.

Prediction: 85 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
