As you look to set your fantasy football lineups for Week 9, here are a handful of start/sit considerations.

It’s Week 9 on the schedule, already as we’re prone to say every year in fantasy football. This is also the first of two weeks with six teams on a bye, with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants idle.

So fantasy rosters are thinned, with Saquon Barkley, Carson Wentz, Andrew Luck, A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd among the notables who are unavailable this week.

The waiver wire might be an option to find a plug-and-play or two, but depending on league size or the length of a bench that could be hard to do without making a tough decision.

Week 9 kicks off Thursday night with the Oakland Raiders taking on the San Francisco 49ers. That is shaping up to be a game only fantasy football owners and the media on site will watch all the way through, as much as there are options on either team.

As you look to lock in your fantasy football lineups for Week 9, here are five start or sits to help you make decisions.

5. Start Latavius Murray

Murray has been productive of late, with four touchdowns on the ground over the last three games while averaging 5.4 yards per carry over that span.

With Dalvin Cook (hamstring) set to be out through Minnesota’s Week 10 bye, even with a return to limited practice Wednesday and Thursday as of this writing. Murray will get one more run as the lead back in a favorable matchup Week 9.

The Detroit Lions have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs (ESPN PPR scoring), with an individual 100-yard rusher allowed in two of their last four games and a touchdown allowed to the position in back-to-back games.

And for the nice icing on that cake, the Lions have allowed 5.5 yards per carry to running backs this season. Damon Harrison should help that going forward, but Detroit defense is gettable on the ground.

Murray can be rolled with as a low-end RB1 in 12-team leagues this week. Then here’s a piece of advice, try to sell-high on him in a trade before the deadline in your league.
