FanDuel NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Cash Games Article

What’s up DFS grinders! Good morning and welcome back to another addition of my FanDuel NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Cash Games Article. I’m going to try to get this out to you before your morning cup of Joe; so this will be a super early first look with no injury news. I will try to predict some injury news but provide an alternate play if someone will be influenced by the injury later in the day. I hate not having my Vegas information to help with highest scoring games and blowout potential but I’ll do my best to figure that out without it. I might not be around a majority of the day that’s why I stayed up late at night to finish writing it, but I might be around closer to lock to post some updates so as always remember to give me a follow on twitter @DFS_Joey for any updates to the article and there should be with a ton of injury news to wait on.

FanDuel NBA Injury Report

Since there will be no Vegas information when I post this article or at least when I’m finished writing it I want to try something new. This will be an injury report of all the relevant injury news for DFS purposes.

Boston: Jaylon Brown (Q) is dealing with a foot injury. If he is unable to go it would give bumps to the role players on Boston. Semi Ojeleye received the start last game and will make for a nice value play again here. While Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier receive nice bumps in minutes in his absence last game.

Indiana: No important injury new to monitor

Cleveland: It looks like Kevin Love will be out another 6 weeks after getting surgery on his toe. In his absence Sam Dekker has been getting the start for the Cavs, with Larry Nance continuing to see a reserve role in this rotation. Cleveland currently has the worst record in the NBA and I would love to see a change to this rotation.

Charlotte: No important Injury news

Miami has some important inure news that could really influence the slate. We have Goran Dragic who did not practice the past 2 days. If he is unable to go that who boost Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson up. Hassan Whiteside missed practice but should be good to go tonight. Tyler Johnson is still questionable but should be good to go tonight.

Atlanta: No important Injury news

Houston: It appears that James Harden will be good this will bump down a lot of other guys with their prices at what they are.

Chicago: All the same guys continue to be out for them.

New Orleans: Elfrid Payton is already confirmed out by the team and Anthony Davis is currently Questionable to play. This injury will have a big impact on the slate and game. Julius Randle is probable and Darius Miller remains questionable.

San Antonio: No new injury news Point Guard still is thin.

Utah: We have no word yet if Mitchell will miss another game of the back to back we will know later in the day. Alec Burks missed his second straight game so we will need to wait to see if either of these guys are ruled out before making final decisions on our rosters. Jae Crowder‘s ankle doesn’t looked to have bothered him much last night with 32 minutes play and almost 6x value.

Denver: No important Injury news

LA: No important Injury news

Portland: Maurice Harkless will miss another game tonight against the Lakers. This will be his 4th game he has missed this season. I would expect Jake Layman to receive another start for the Trailblazers. Who has yet to be really fantasy relevant outside of single game showdown games topping double-digit fantasy points only twice.

FanDuel NBA Point Guard

Top Tier

Damian Lillard 9.9k: This game will be one of the highest scoring and I love the matchup. Rajon Rondo will have a ton of trouble matching up against him. It looks like they have been switching to Lonzo Ball as the main Point Guard for this team which makes the matchup a little more difficult, but I still like it because of what should be a high total game.

Middle Tier

Ricky Rubio 6.2k: This play will rely completely on if Donovan Mitchell sits another game. Rubio is coming off a monster 40 point fantasy performance in what was a tough matchup. Now he see a great matchup. They will be in a pace up game where scoring will be needed. Last year outside the one blowout game Mitchell missed 2 games. One of those games Rubio was 3 assists away from a triple double and the other one he dropped 34 points. This could be a smash spot for him if given the opportunity.

Cheap Tier

Tyler Johnson 4.2k: this play relies on if Goran Dragic is unable to suit up for the Heat tonight. We had a 3 game stretch last year where Dragic was inactive and Johnson had to play 38 minutes per game. During that stretch he averaged 14.7 points, 7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Those are some great numbers for a 4.k guy. I doubt he would play that many minutes with the team they have now but he will easily see 30+ minutes is he’s out.

FanDuel NBA Shooting Guard

Top Tier

James Harden 11.7k: It appears that Harden will be back tonight and it couldn’t come at a better spot. He is facing the Chicago who is one of the worst defenses in the league. They just allowed a season high 58.3 fantasy points to victor Oladipo after he had 5 fantasy points halfway through the 2nd quarter. The Bulls rank 25th in pace but 29th in defensive rating. Not many possessions for teams but teams score with ease on them.

Middle Tier

Rodney McGruder 5.7k: Hope everyone forgot about him after a couple sub par games, but I really like the spot for him here. The team could be without Dragic which could open up some scoring opportunities for the young fella. He is going up against one of the worst fantasy teams in the league vs the SG. They rank last in rebounds allowed to SGs which is one of the categories he excelled in early in the season. They also ranked 2nd to last in both points and 3 pointers made.

Cheap Tier

Marco Belinelli 3.8k: He’s more of a GPP play for me but I had to mention his name because I feel like nobody is talking about him. He has topped 20+ minutes in 6 of his first 7 games played this season. His usage rating in those games above 20 minutes is 24.3%. He is a great spark off the bench and has really benefited from the injuries at the guard position for the Spurs.

FanDuel NBA Small Forward

Top Tier

LeBron James 12k: James has topped 50 fantasy points now in 6 straight games. His usage rating in still one of the highest in the league with 29.5%. He’s in what might be the highest scoring game on the slate. He’s the King for a reason and this is a spot you don’t have to shy away from at all.

Middle Tier

Rudy Gay 6.8k: He’s coming off a blowout game where he only played 22 minutes but before that Gay managed to get all the way up to 40 minutes. Pop seems to trust Gay more and more with his usage rate above 20% in every game he has started. His defensive stats help to boost his ceiling. We could see a big game out of him tonight in a great matchup where the pelicans are giving up the 4th most fantasy points to SFs.

Cheap Tier

Royce O’Neale 3.5k: I didn’t play him last night but if Mitchell is out again I say we go right back to him. Recency bias will pull people off this play but I like it. He had a rough time shooting from the floor only getting 2 of 6 shots to fall. I think his bad game also had something to do with picking up those 3 fouls which made him far less aggressive.

FanDuel NBA Power Forward

Top Tier

LaMarcus Aldridge 8.1k: Wow his price is getting very cheap, I love it. I was happy to pay 9.5k for him a week ago and now we get him at 8.1k in hopefully an amazing matchup if Anthony Davis is out. We just saw last game Aminu and Nurkic feast down low against them and Aldridge is one of the best big men in the league scoring down in the low post; he can also draw a ton of fouls. This doesn’t bode well for Randle who has a history of foul issues.

Middle Tier

Kyle Kuzma 6.6k: So with Brandon Ingram back Lakers starting 5 is big Lonzo Ball is running the point at 6′ 6″ and Brandon Ingram at SG who is 6’9″. Kyle Kuzma is still the 4 and it was smart to keep him in he’s an amazing young athletic big who has shown sparks of greatest earlier in the season with suspensions. He is now going up against one of the worst teams against PFs. This looks to be one of my favorite games on the slate so you know I want to get as much exposure as I can. I also am a huge fan of playing a bunch of guys from the 10:30 games.

Cheap Tier

There’s currently no cheap tier PFs I like for my cash builds We might get injury news that opens something up, but for now I’m looking to pay up or at least to the middle of the road..

HOUSTON, TX – OCTOBER 30: Clint Capela #15 of the Houston Rockets dunks over Zach Collins #33 of the Portland Trail Blazers in the first quarter at Toyota Center on October 30, 2018 in Houston, Texas. FanDuel NBA Center

Top Tier

Clint Capela 8.4k: I wrote him up last night and he killed it for us and I want to go right back to the well here in a smash spot against Chicago. They are the 4th worst rebounding team in the league, but the funny thing is the Rockets are the second worst rebounding team in the league. So there will be plenty of rebounds to go around for him tonight.

More from FanSided

With James Harden back that doesn’t seem to influence his usage that much. In the 2 games without Harden (I don’t have last nights data yet) we saw Capela have his highest usage rate 24.4% and his lowest usage rate 13.8%. So it doesn’t look like usage matters, but with the pace of play up with Harden in the lineup and the Bulls will look to take more shots to keep up with the Rockets he could be instore for a great game.

Middle Tier

Jusuf Nurkic 7k: So I just wanted to mention before I started (Wow Javale McGee has reached 7.6k what is going on in the world!? That is all). Nurkic will be in a great spot here vs the Lakers who allow the most rebounds in the league to Centers and are giving up over 30 points a game to them as well. My only knock on Nurk is that his minutes just don’t seem consistent enough to play him comfortably in cash games, but the spot should easily be able to overcome the minutes limit he seems to have, rarely playing in the fourth quarter of games.

Cheap Tier

There’s currently no Center I want to pay all the way down. Hassan Whiteside didn’t practice yesterday but he is expected to play, but if for some reason he does’t  we can load up on Bam Adebayo. We won’t get that luck though in what would be a smash spot for him.
