Michael Thomas does the Joe Horn celebration (Video)
The New Orleans Saints put the exclamation point on their victory over the Los Angeles Rams with a Michael Thomas touchdown, and his celebration was epic.
The Saints and Rams played the most-anticipated game of the weekend, and it didn’t disappoint. After taking a 35-14 lead in the second quarter, New Orleans allowed 21 unanswered points before scoring the final 10 points, including a game-clinching 72-yard touchdown pass against Marcus Peters.
Once Thomas reached the end zone, he started digging underneath the goal post and pulled out an old-school flip phone, dialing into it as the flags flew. Of course, the con was an awesome homage to former Saints great Joe Horn, who made the same move on a Monday night back in 2003 against the New York Giants.
For Thomas, the celebration was well-earned from a team and personal standpoint. The Saints were able to knock off the Rams, giving them their first loss of the season. Additionally, New Orleans now holds all the cards in terms of home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.
As for the personal stats, Thomas torched Peters and anybody else who lined up against him throughout the afternoon to the tune of 12 catches for 211 yards and a touchdown. Thomas, who doesn’t get the same amount of attention as some of the other premiere wide receivers in the game, showcased his talents for a nation that witnessed New Orleans move to 7-1 on the year.

For Thomas, one of the quieter stars in the game, his moment of snatching the cell phone and flipping it open will give him ample exposure in the coming days and weeks, all while New Orleans rolls towards a Super Bowl run.
