Trade Jay Bruce

Last offseason, the New York Mets decided to bring Jay Bruce back on what seemed like a bargain deal. After a season ridden with injuries and underperformances, the Mets need to ship this guy out of here fast.

With Brandon Nimmo and Michael Conforto emerging as two young, talented outfielders, Bruce is no longer a necessity. Plus with him in the lineup, they become too left-handed heavy.

In just 94 games Bruce hit .223, his lowest batting average since 2014, with nine home runs and 37 rbi. Sure, injuries helped derail his season but even when healthy Bruce was nothing to write home about.

At this point, you take what you can get for him.

The Twins, who are one of the few American League teams with no real answer at the DH position get the perfect kind of DH. Bruce isn’t going to hit for average but he’ll hit for power and you can live with that from your DH.

Watson is a lefty prospect, who can help replace the pieces you gave up in the J.T. Realmuto deal. Watson pitched to a 4.88 ERA in A+ and A ball this past year.
