It’s Alabama’s world and the rest of the SEC is just living in it. The Tide demolished LSU to clinch the SEC West and stay atop this week’s SEC power rankings.

When you look at the talent on the Alabama and LSU rosters you don’t see a 29 point difference. However, there’s a pretty big difference between Nick Saban and Ed Orgeron. Predictably, the Tide’s coaching staff ran rings around the Tigers. As such, Alabama dominated the so-called game of the year with a cakewalk victory in Baton Rouge.

That game wasn’t very interesting. Fortunately, the rest of the SEC went haywire this week. Kentucky, Texas A&M and Florida were ranked fourth, fifth and sixth in last week’s power rankings. Each team suffered a loss this week. Add that to No. 2 LSU’s failure to show up against Alabama and it’s easy to see how chaos reigns.

Lucky for you, we’re here to paint you a clear picture of how the SEC stands. We’ll start our power rankings with a familiar team at the bottom.

Most teams like to have a bye at this point in the season, but Arkansas would prefer to get another chance at victory. Last week’s loss against Vanderbilt is still squarely in the mind of Chad Morris. In fairness, the only thing the Razorbacks can really accomplish now is to give their fans something to cheer about. A bowl bid isn’t happening for the ‘Hawgs.

Jeremy Pruitt was hoping his team could flex their muscles a little bit this weekend. That didn’t happen for the Volunteer offense. Only scoring 14 points against Charlotte is a significant step backward for Jarrett Guarantano and company. The Tennessee running game was non-existent in this one. They managed a grand total of 20 rushing yards on 26 carries. Fortunately for the fans on Rocky Top, the defense managed to shut down the 49ers attack. There still wasn’t anything impressive about this win for the Vols.
