Week 9 is in the books for fantasy football owners, and several pass-catchers emerged as breakout candidates who will likely be snapped up quickly on the waiver wire this week.

For weeks, Cleveland Browns fans and fantasy football owners had been clamoring for Hue Jackson and Todd Haley to utilize Duke Johnson more frequently. In Johnson’s first game with Gregg Williams and Freddie Kitchens running the show, he was one of the top fantasy scorers of the week.

Johnson will be a popular waiver wire add this week, but he isn’t the only player worth targeting, especially among pass-catchers. Adam Humphries and Jeff Heuerman had monster weeks, posting over 20 fantasy points each. Tight ends are especially hard to come by, so Heuerman could prove to be a valuable add for fantasy owners bullish on the Denver Broncos tight end’s upside.

Humphries is one of many mouths to feed in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but with Ryan Fitzpatrick slinging the rock and an up-and-down running game, there are opportunities to be found in this offense.

The usual suspects at running back find themselves on the list, and it’s getting harder to find backs who have a chance at making a fantasy impact. With running backs, the name of the game is touchdown upside, which is why Ito Smith remains an attractive option to stash on the bench.
