Breakout fantasy football stars to pick up for Week 10
By Jon Dove
There were a few injuries this past week that allowed some players to have a breakout fantasy football performance.
At this stage in the season, the main way for someone to emerge as a fantasy football threat is due to an injury. This past week Geronimo Allison and Chris Carson were limited which created an opportunity for others to impress.
There are a few players on this breakout list that benefited from those injuries. You could also benefit if you are able to add these players to your roster.
One player not on my list that had some flashes this week is Lamar Jackson. Now, his stat line doesn’t scream stardom. The bigger take away is that the Baltimore Ravens had him in the lineup more often– especially in the red zone.
They are at a cross roads in their season where another loss could derail their playoff hopes. If the playoffs are out of the picture the team might decide it’s time to turn things over to Jackson.
He’s a bit of a wildcard, but his ability to pick up yards with his legs makes him a make threat. It’s possible he’s putting up some big numbers when the fantasy playoffs roll around. Now would be a good time to add him if you have room on your roster.
Another intriguing option is Cordarrelle Patterson. The wide receiver has been getting work at running back and producing. He has always been a tremendous athlete but has struggle to pick up the smaller points of playing wide receiver.
The New England Patriots are a team that doesn’t hesitate to be different. It’s possible they found some lightening in a bottle with Patterson.
